Legal information

Privacy policy

1. Who is responsible

Juliana Sofía Bernal Flórez, publisher of affrenchy.com, is the data controller. For any question: contact@affrenchy.com. Her other contact details appear in the legal notice.

2. What we collect

When you subscribe to the magazine

  • your first name and email address;
  • the dates of your sign-up and confirmation, the page you signed up from, and proof of your agreement: the text accepted and its date;
  • the list of issues sent to you, to avoid duplicates.

When you create your account with The Affrenchys

  • your first name, last name, email address and phone number, private and reserved for our team;
  • your pseudonym, visible to members, and, if you choose to give them, where you are with your hair and a few words about yourself;
  • your posts, replies, photos and "thank you"s, visible to signed-in members;
  • proof of your agreement to the Kindness Charter and the terms, the dates of your sign-up and visits;
  • your reports, read by the team alone.

The photos you post are reduced in your browser, then cleaned on our server of their metadata: location, device and shooting date are erased before anything goes online. They are shown only to signed-in members.

To protect the forms

Your IP address, in an encrypted and irreversible form, for twenty-four hours at most: it serves only to slow down automated submissions. Like any host, OVHcloud also keeps technical connection logs for the security of the service.

3. Why, and on what basis

4. Who has access

Only Juliana Sofía Bernal Flórez and Dr Maritza Flórez. Our host, OVH SAS, stores the data on our behalf, on servers located in France, and sends emails in our name: it acts as a processor, on our instructions alone.

Your information stays out of all commerce: selling, renting, exchanging or transferring it to third parties is excluded. If responsibility for the site were one day to pass to a company created by its founders, you would be informed in advance, with the option of leaving in one click.

5. How long

6. Your rights

You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection, and you can withdraw your consent at any time. You can also leave us instructions on what happens to your data after your death.

To exercise them, write to contact@affrenchy.com: we reply within one month. You can also lodge a complaint with the CNIL, 3 place de Fontenoy, TSA 80715, 75334 Paris Cedex 07, France, cnil.fr.

7. Security

The site is served exclusively over HTTPS. The data is stored outside the public area of the server. You enter the salon through a single-use personal link, and your session is held in a protected cookie that scripts cannot read. Every email is signed in the name of affrenchy.com (DKIM), so your mailbox recognises it as authentic.

8. Cookies and trackers

  • A single cookie, "aff_salon", set when you enter the salon: it keeps your session open, for up to six months. Strictly necessary for the service you request, it is exempt from consent.
  • Zero audience measurement tools and zero advertising or tracking pixels: we have no way of knowing whether or when you open the magazine.
  • The fonts are served from our own servers.
  • Your browser remembers, on your device only, your language choice if you make one.
  • Some older articles offer a film: it loads from youtube-nocookie.com only when you click on it. From that click, YouTube, a Google service, applies its own privacy policy, which may involve transfers outside the European Union.

9. Transfers outside the European Union

Our own processing remains in France, with our host. Only playing a film, at your request, involves YouTube.

10. Changes to this policy

This policy may change; the date of its last update appears at the top of the page. Any significant change is announced in the magazine and in the salon.
